I will still eat Durian

Durian

Jurry was asking me a favor if I could help him out with his research and with no hesitation I said "yes". Sideline narin and he promised me that he will treat me with durian on our way home. With my other companions we ate 3 kinds of Durians namely GD, puyat and duyaya. At first, he only ordered 1 durian fruit but we were still not full so Arnold and him decided to get another two. At the back of my mind I was saying "dapat daghan jud akong kuhaon ani, magpatuyang jud ko" but unfortunately, I felt strange after eating 6 pieces of them.

I began to feel the heat, a pressure is moving towards my head and I feel a reeling sensation that as if I am drank. As I was looking at the two guys their face began to appear red. We even cracked joke at each other to get a bottle of Redhorse to complement the Durian and the result - -> a disaster! Puking, puking, puking, walking in sideward directions. Good thing, we surrendered and gave the rest of the durians to the kids watching while we were eating.

When I arrived home, it was raining hard. I planned to rest for a while my feet before I will take a bath. But unfortunately, due to the effect durian has brought me, I slept for long hours. I have not even felt the droplets of water that were falling on me. I did not even change my uniform. I was absent for my classes in the morning. It seems like I have a sore throat also. I undoubtedly still has hang-over with durian.

Amidst that, I WILL STILL EAT DURIAN. In spite of the penetrating and powerful smell it has, I still love it. Its taste is unique, wonderful and I think one of the delicious foods here on earth.

Thank you very much Jurry and Arnold for treating us. When I will have extra money, I will treat both of you also. It was truly an incredible and beautiful experience.

  1. I've been to Davao many many times already. I've eaten durian candies but not the real fruit.

I think it was because when I was still around 5 or 6, I vomit everytime I smell durian.

But maybe it's now time to change. I'll try it when I have the opportunity.

Our Chinese neighbor likes durian.. Though they are in 3rd flr and we are in 4th,we can still smell it... I've tried durian one time and it tastes good but I just can't take the smell.

Here in Singapore, anybody who carries a durian cannot take any public bus in respect with other passengers.

I guess with many kinds of foods, it takes getting used to. I had the experiencing of tasting one. I enjoyed the taste but unfortunately, the smell got the better of me. Masaya na ako sa durian candies. Have a nice weekend!
