Nice shoutout from Friendster

by , in
Just want to share to you guys this nice shoutout from a former colleague - Joan, who is now working in Korea. I saw this in her friendster account and I really like it. Here it is:
You'll never find anybody that achieves great success in life without a give-up story. And there will come a time when you will find that you too will have to give-up something good if you want something better.

This quote is specially dedicated to someone so close to my heart.

Ay naku po! Ano ng nangyayari?

Dahil sa matigas ang ulo, ayaw magvitamins o heto sinisip-on parin ako. Grabe talaga, last week sa work - nakakadisturb xa.

Kasagingan Trip

by , in
Here's another coffee trip we had after our gym session.

Kasagingan Coffee Shop We went to Kasagingan, a coffee shop just located along Torres Street. It was actually James who brought and treated us. Hehehehee...

The place is nice because you are as if only sipping your own coffee at a beautiful garden in your house. I also had great time reading some of the posters they had because I see nice tag lines with all touch or words related to bananas. Hmmn...don't forget also to bring laptop because as we all know, wifi is free here in Davao for all coffee shops.

Nagagym ko part!

by , in
As I've mentioned in my Busy and Memorable post, "nagagym nko part" and it was in Matina Health Studio. It is just a walking distance gym from our office.

I have been planning all this time to really enroll myself in a gym because I've gained so much after our College Graduation. Eating is one of my outlets when I am broken hearted, frustrated, sad or anything that makes your heart aches. Hehehehhee... Aside from that, the whole summer up to August 14 I was just at home. My routines were just to eat, sleep, tutor (just 2 hrs) and be infront of the computer - busy blogging...(Sinong hindi tataba niyan?)

Blugre' Trip

by , in
Blugre Davao
These are the food and the drinks we had when we went to Blugre'.

It was all our first time honestly. We ordered 3 Blugre' Larcepuccino (Oreo), Banana Cream Pie, Cheese Roll Bites and Chocolate Torte with Cream. They are all yummy, sooooooooooo sweeeeeet and a bit expensive. I paid P685.00 for all of them. Hehehehe...

But we we're so full then because we went to Taps first for our dinner that's why we haven't finished eating all of them. So I brought home the Cheese Creamroll for my boyfriend after.

Lazy Weekend

by , in
It's 4:30am and I haven't done anything. I said to myself that this weekend I will be blogging the wonderful things that had happened to me for the past few weeks but I am just feeling lazy. When I arrived from work (Sat - morning) cause I am on a night shift, I just turned my PC on for a while to put captions on Clan B's first mini gathering pictures, ate and then slept.

Missing my students

by , in
I gave up my 8-10pm tutorial to the sons of business parents to give me more time to rest and focus on my new job.

When I told them that I will be quitting, I really thought David and Darwin are fine with it. In fact, during our last tutorial session I can see that they are cooperating - trying to digest everything that I am teaching them that night. I also gave them pieces of advice as parting words. I was really controlling myself, preventing my eyes not to shed tears to make the situation okay.

Online shopping is a trend nowadays. Name it!But I tell you getting the best deals for a shopper definitely give a headache for you. All the more when you have to visit all of these online stores and do the compare and contrast. Well, I have to asked permission first for my bosses on the sidelines I have.

There is always a reason

by , in
Life as a breadwinner is tough, all the more when you are the only one who is working. But it's okay. Life has to keep on going, you just have to accept all the reasons why our creator has put you in a situation like that because He knows best. You just have to believe Him.

I know it is challenging, fulfilling and rewarding at the same time and it can't be paid by any amount especially when you see your loved ones smile, be happy and say "thank you". So, you should never give up! Whatever trials may come in.

The Pianist

by , in
Ever since I was able to watch the 75th Annual Academy Awards or Oscars on Studio 23 I really got interested with this movie. The Pianist had received a lot of nominations from Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Editing and Best Picture with major wins on Best Director, Best Writing - Adapted Screenplay and Best Actor in Leading Role categories. I was thinking this must be a really good movie if that's the case.

So I watched it but only few weeks ago. Imagine it was first shown on the year 2003 and now its 2008. Hehehehee...Jaahh..nevermind as long as I have able to see it - time has never been an issue to me when it comes to movies. I even prefer watching a movie in the big screen on its 3rd week or a week before it will have its change picture. I got a lot of reasons for that.

Gokusen 1 and 2: Hanep talaga!

by , in

I just can't get enough of Gokusen. In my a Couch Potato blog (previous blog), I’ve mentioned it already when I was still watching its Season 1 and now that I am done with Season 2 there's no reason why I shouldn't blog it here because Gokusen is truly a great Japanese Drama.

It has a lot of morale or lessons that will really inspire and clutch you. Like the hardships and challenges she has to go through teaching students that are considered "trash" or delinquent and at the same time hiding her identity as the 4th generation heir to the Oedo Group, a notorious Yakuza clan.

And she has surpassed them all and proven to everybody that school is for everyone. Teachers should not only care those who are considered intelligent students but also those students who really need their guidance. Instead of cursing them to death for giving you a headache because of their laziness or whatever it is, give them something to motivate them.

To make them realize that school is fun and they should not quit right? I am also touched on what Yamaguchi has been always telling them, "No matter what happens I’ll make sure everyone of you graduates". Wow!

I reached Google Adsense Pay-out!

by , in

Finally, I have able to reach Google Adsense pay-out. Yepeey! It is not an impressive earnings because I have it after two years but I am still happy. It maybe small but it truly helps. With that money I could already buy my family 1 sack of rice and groceries. Hehehhehehe...

My sites don't have that great traffic that's why my earnings with Adsense are not that impressive. But I hope with the new designs my blogs have, my earnings would go up and eventually I could receive a monthly money from Google Adsense. Of course, my posts should always be on top of this because they are the ones that generate more visitors if you have great or quality posts.

Well, good luck to me!

Pinoy Fear Factor

by , in
Di rin palalamang ang ABS-CBN ha. If GMA-7 got the rights for Pinoy Survivor, ABS-CBN also has a match for that and that is Pinoy Fear Factor! Hmmmnn..the network rivalry is getting more interesting each time they have new shows.

Who do you think will get high ratings with those two upcoming reality shows? We will just see...

Anyways, rumor says that Ryan Agoncillo will be hosting Pinoy Fear Factor. He seems to fit the role because he is really a good host but we never know, only ABS-CBN can tell. We will just have to stay tune for some updates. By the way, a money amounting to 2 Million Pesos will be the prize for the winner of Pinoy Fear Factor.

Romance

by , in

I am impressed with this movie. I thought this was an R-18 love story movie as I based it in the title but I was wrong. It has a very nice story and the love of a guy to the woman is just heroic. What is so interesting about Romance is, it is also packed with action  (my first time to see a Korean movie like this)

Here is the synopsis: (from KoreanMovie)

Yoon-hee is so harassed by her husband's obsession and frantic love, that even breathing is painful to her.

One day, her sudden suicide attempt is foiled when someone takes her in his arms and saves her. Hyung-jun is a rough-looking detective. He asks nothing, but maybe he knows that for some people, just being alive is hard enough. Yoon-hee goes looking for Hyung-jun, and from the moment she sees him, feels that he already loves her deeply. Because she knows it is totally impossible to be free from her prison of marriage, the peace and happiness she feels at Hyung-jun's side is heartbreaking and frightening.

Hyung-jun, used to his life of loneliness and despair, loves Yoon-hee at first sight, but as he can't do anything for her, just lets her go. The only thing he can do is to offer her and himself some comfort.

Marrying the Mafia

by , in

According to Wikipedia, Marrying the Mafia sold 5,200,001 tickets, becoming 14th highest Korean films-ticket selling film. For the year of 2002 it was the highest-attended South Korean film, and the second highest-attended film (including international productions) in South Korea. Marrying Mafia was also an instant hit, beating out other 2002 film competitors such as Jail Breakers, The Way Home and Sex is Zero.

So out from these information I’ve read I became so intrigue to watch this movie. All the more when I learned that Kim Jung-eun is the starring role. But unfortunately, I didn’t like Marrying the Mafia. It's a bit dull and I am not satisfied with the comedy. It was kind of a  waste of time. I wonder what made this movie hit and high grossing. Is it because of the gangster story or because of the cast and characters? Jaaahh…I don’t know, only them can tell.

Wentworth Miller - Prison Break (Love you!)

by , in
Prison Break, Wentworth MillerTwo weeks ago, I bought DVD's of Prison Break - the complete episodes of Seasons 1-3. Raphael was actually the one who recommended me to watch this TV series. I am also curious if Prison Break will be as great as 24 (so far the best), Alias or Heroes.

So after the exams my students had, I gave myself a break just last weekend. I finished Seasons 1 and 2 and is looking forward for the Season 3. It is quite good but I will just have to give you the detail of my review on my Entertainment Fanatic blog. But one thing is for sure, I love Wentworth Miller. He is just so hot! No wonder that this TV series is getting high ratings. It is a plus factor if the lead role is handsome you know. Women especially gays are drooling over with a hot papa! (Charus!)

Casablanca - Best Love story movie of all time???

by , in
I watched Casablanca few weeks ago in order to satisfy my curiosity.

I got interested with the movie long time ago after hearing so many good reviews not only from old folks I know but also from people I see on television. They have always been telling that this is the best love story movie of all time. So, for a love story sucker and hopeless romantic like me - what is the reason of not watching it? To think, I have always been on constant search for great movies of this like.

Took the test from Blogthings and here is the result. I got an 84%. Not that bad but I still have to work on for the 16% to be a multimillionaire someday. What do you think? Will I achieve it? Hehehehehe...Whew! I still have to be a millionaire before i become a multimillionaire. Will it take me ages to do that? Imagine, to be the next Donald Trump??? Well, I don't know. I wonder what kind of thing will make me become a millionaire. Is it work, luck or something? Hehehehehe... (Saranggola sa ulan bah?) We will see, we will see. :)

Happy Father's Day!

by , in
Father's Day, Happy Father's DayFew minutes ago, Blogistang Ninja send me a link to his Father's Day post at naiyak ako when I read his entry while playing the Dance with my Father. I asked myself if I become a good daughter to my father because often times I would hurt him with my words.

There are times when I mumble why he had that kind of illness he is suffering until now. But then again, I realized if not because of him, I wouldn't be here. He had the illness because of us. He worked so hard just to provide our needs when we were still young - day and night and that I should always put in my mind. He is not perfect just like everyone else so I should extend my patience and understand him more.

Finding Nemo

by , in

I really want to watch Finding Nemo ever since I heard good reviews from this movie. I remember the first time I heard good remarks was when I had my first year of work as a tutor in a certain tutorial center. The whole family of my employer watched it and they had been saying that it was really a good movie not to mention the lessons you get from watching Finding Nemo.

Luckily, days ago I find out that our neighbor has a DVD of it so I borrowed and watched it.  And  the movie is indeed beautiful. Though the story line is a bit simple but I really like the positive message it leaves to the audience.

What is it? Well, it is the love of a father to his son and believing on what your son can do. Marlin (Nemo's father) went through a lot before he was able to reach Sydney and find his son. On the other hand, Nemo was able to learn so many things by overcoming his fears.

One more thing I like about this movie was the voice of Nemo (so cute and adorable fish).  And the voice behind it is no other than Alexander Gould. He was 7 years old that time. I bet he is making tons of money out from this movie. By the way, Albert Brooks and Ellen DeGeneres were also impressive as the voices of Marlin and Dory respectively.

Yume no chikara by Aya Ueto

by , in
I love the song, the music video and of course the singer! Aya Ueto really impresses me. She is not only beautiful but also talented. She can sing, she can dance and of course she can act. Not to mention her great performances in Azumi and Azumi 2: Death or Love and as Kozue in the famous Jdrama entitled "Attack no.1".

The latter, I finished watching its 11 episodes the other day but i will just have to check out her other JDrama entitled "Ace o Nerae" and compared the two okay? Well, as a recommendation again for you to watch.

Anyways, Yume no chikara is actually the official theme song in "Attack no.1". A beautiful song! I know you will love her music video so you better check it out now. Ang cute niya talaga! Jaaahhh..hook na hook na talaga ako sa Japanese stuff!

Cristine Reyes as Eva Fonda

by , in

Eva Fonda's teaser is now being aired on ABS-CBN. It is pretty interesting huh considering that Cristine Reyes is really beautiful and sexy. I am also excited on how much skin will Cristine Reyes be showing in this new series.

Anyways, I also like that Baron Geisler is among the cast in Eva Fonda. He absolutely fits the role that he will be playing. To think, he is now tagged as the new Bad Boy in the showbiz industry. Other casts are Alma Moreno (the  former actress who played Eva Fonda), Jason Abalos, Joross Gamboa, Hazel Ann Mendoza and Janna Victoria.

I hope Eva Fonda will get high ratings. This seems to be a good offer to Cristine Reyes after she has transferred to ABS-CBN. Good luck to all of you!

The Queen's Classroom

by , in

School is back and I bet a lot of teachers especially students are now excited. For some, classes had just started last June 5 but for others it will be this coming Tuesday because tomorrow will be Independence Day.

Anyways, why I am talking such thing in this post? Well, I would like to commend to all of you a Japanese series that would inspire or somehow give you a good outlook when it comes to studying or schooling. This series is also good for all teachers out there. Whether you are an aspiring teacher, new teacher or perhaps a teacher already tired of your job. You know like doing those routines for a low pay and all that stuff. Am I right? Okay, I will not be beating around the bush anymore.

Watch The Queen's Classroom if you have time. This is quite the same with two great Japanese series namely Great Teacher Onizuka (GT0) and Gokusen because they all talk about the life and experiences of being a sensei or a teacher as well as the memories they have shared to their students. But what is so nice or interesting about The Queen's classroom is the different kind of approach Maya (the sensei) is giving to teach students about life and everything that comes into it. She is not like the "heroic" type here compared to GTO and Gokusen because her students hate her so much. She is like a devilish teacher. She is some kind of weird also because she wears an entire black attire in going to class. And that you should find out the reason why.

First Day of Work

by , in
I was having a hard time sleeping yesterday. It must have been because it is my first day of my other work. If you are wondering what kind of work it is, well it is being a teacher or a tutor. I will be teaching high school students from Stella Marris. I am excited because I love the job. They said, I am good when it comes to Academe that's why I should really be a teacher. Well, here it is. Though it will not be in a certain University or School but I am still happy because the pay in a tutorial center is far way better compared to working in a certain school. Plus, there will be no deductions and all that stuff and I only have to report for two hours a day. :)

Anyways, funny things happened when I was on way for work. I left the house past 4pm and while I am in a jeepney it rain so hard. I didn't bring any umbrella. I should have stop in the near "kanto" but I didn't do it because of the rain. Salamat nlng dahil after a few blocks may nakita akong "trisikad" kaya I told Manong Driver immediately na bababa na ako. I don't know where is our tutorial center that's why I was a bit worried that time lalo pa ang lakas ng ulan. I stopped in a certain store to load my phone. I was a bit pissed that time because the "trisikad" was waiting and my load hasn't arrived. When it reached more than 5 minutes I just told the trisikad driver to not wait for me anymore and paid him. I gave him 15 pesos actually because I got pity that he is waiting.

Anne Curtis as Diyosa

by , in
Anne Curtis, Diyosa

The teaser for the new soap in ABS-CBN entitled Diyosa is very appealing and I like the fact that Anne curtis was chosen to play the role. Her beauty is indeed can be equated to a goddess. I read some information in the internet about this new soap and here are  the thing that I found out:

Anne Curtis is a mermaid here and this will be the bet of ABS-CBN to GMA-7's Dyesebel. And according to telebisyon.net she will have four characters in this new series. She will be the goddess of earth, land, water and fire. She is not only a mermaid but also a centaur, eagle and a human.

I happen to read also in one website that her leading men will be Sam Milby, Zanjoe Marudo and Luis Manzano.

I am very much eager to see Diyosa. This will be this month right? Ang ganda talaga ni Anne noh? Tingnan niyo ang picture niya, grabe talaga!

Must-See Movies!

by , in
Everytime I am bored, one of the things that I usually do to ease it is watch movies. I am a movie buff anyway. Almost every week I borrowed DVD's and VCD's from Video City, aside from the regular watching at crunchyroll, watch-movies.net and the DVD's I bought and borrowed from friends. I am trying to do a little review of them in my Movie Blog and Love Story Blog but I can't seem to do it often because I watch movies more! Jaahhh...
