There is always a reason

by , in
Life as a breadwinner is tough, all the more when you are the only one who is working. But it's okay. Life has to keep on going, you just have to accept all the reasons why our creator has put you in a situation like that because He knows best. You just have to believe Him.

I know it is challenging, fulfilling and rewarding at the same time and it can't be paid by any amount especially when you see your loved ones smile, be happy and say "thank you". So, you should never give up! Whatever trials may come in.

The Pianist

by , in
Ever since I was able to watch the 75th Annual Academy Awards or Oscars on Studio 23 I really got interested with this movie. The Pianist had received a lot of nominations from Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Editing and Best Picture with major wins on Best Director, Best Writing - Adapted Screenplay and Best Actor in Leading Role categories. I was thinking this must be a really good movie if that's the case.

So I watched it but only few weeks ago. Imagine it was first shown on the year 2003 and now its 2008. Hehehehee...Jaahh..nevermind as long as I have able to see it - time has never been an issue to me when it comes to movies. I even prefer watching a movie in the big screen on its 3rd week or a week before it will have its change picture. I got a lot of reasons for that.

Gokusen 1 and 2: Hanep talaga!

by , in

I just can't get enough of Gokusen. In my a Couch Potato blog (previous blog), I’ve mentioned it already when I was still watching its Season 1 and now that I am done with Season 2 there's no reason why I shouldn't blog it here because Gokusen is truly a great Japanese Drama.

It has a lot of morale or lessons that will really inspire and clutch you. Like the hardships and challenges she has to go through teaching students that are considered "trash" or delinquent and at the same time hiding her identity as the 4th generation heir to the Oedo Group, a notorious Yakuza clan.

And she has surpassed them all and proven to everybody that school is for everyone. Teachers should not only care those who are considered intelligent students but also those students who really need their guidance. Instead of cursing them to death for giving you a headache because of their laziness or whatever it is, give them something to motivate them.

To make them realize that school is fun and they should not quit right? I am also touched on what Yamaguchi has been always telling them, "No matter what happens I’ll make sure everyone of you graduates". Wow!

I reached Google Adsense Pay-out!

by , in

Finally, I have able to reach Google Adsense pay-out. Yepeey! It is not an impressive earnings because I have it after two years but I am still happy. It maybe small but it truly helps. With that money I could already buy my family 1 sack of rice and groceries. Hehehhehehe...

My sites don't have that great traffic that's why my earnings with Adsense are not that impressive. But I hope with the new designs my blogs have, my earnings would go up and eventually I could receive a monthly money from Google Adsense. Of course, my posts should always be on top of this because they are the ones that generate more visitors if you have great or quality posts.

Well, good luck to me!

Pinoy Fear Factor

by , in
Di rin palalamang ang ABS-CBN ha. If GMA-7 got the rights for Pinoy Survivor, ABS-CBN also has a match for that and that is Pinoy Fear Factor! Hmmmnn..the network rivalry is getting more interesting each time they have new shows.

Who do you think will get high ratings with those two upcoming reality shows? We will just see...

Anyways, rumor says that Ryan Agoncillo will be hosting Pinoy Fear Factor. He seems to fit the role because he is really a good host but we never know, only ABS-CBN can tell. We will just have to stay tune for some updates. By the way, a money amounting to 2 Million Pesos will be the prize for the winner of Pinoy Fear Factor.

Romance

by , in

I am impressed with this movie. I thought this was an R-18 love story movie as I based it in the title but I was wrong. It has a very nice story and the love of a guy to the woman is just heroic. What is so interesting about Romance is, it is also packed with action  (my first time to see a Korean movie like this)

Here is the synopsis: (from KoreanMovie)

Yoon-hee is so harassed by her husband's obsession and frantic love, that even breathing is painful to her.

One day, her sudden suicide attempt is foiled when someone takes her in his arms and saves her. Hyung-jun is a rough-looking detective. He asks nothing, but maybe he knows that for some people, just being alive is hard enough. Yoon-hee goes looking for Hyung-jun, and from the moment she sees him, feels that he already loves her deeply. Because she knows it is totally impossible to be free from her prison of marriage, the peace and happiness she feels at Hyung-jun's side is heartbreaking and frightening.

Hyung-jun, used to his life of loneliness and despair, loves Yoon-hee at first sight, but as he can't do anything for her, just lets her go. The only thing he can do is to offer her and himself some comfort.

Marrying the Mafia

by , in

According to Wikipedia, Marrying the Mafia sold 5,200,001 tickets, becoming 14th highest Korean films-ticket selling film. For the year of 2002 it was the highest-attended South Korean film, and the second highest-attended film (including international productions) in South Korea. Marrying Mafia was also an instant hit, beating out other 2002 film competitors such as Jail Breakers, The Way Home and Sex is Zero.

So out from these information I’ve read I became so intrigue to watch this movie. All the more when I learned that Kim Jung-eun is the starring role. But unfortunately, I didn’t like Marrying the Mafia. It's a bit dull and I am not satisfied with the comedy. It was kind of a  waste of time. I wonder what made this movie hit and high grossing. Is it because of the gangster story or because of the cast and characters? Jaaahh…I don’t know, only them can tell.

Wentworth Miller - Prison Break (Love you!)

by , in
Prison Break, Wentworth MillerTwo weeks ago, I bought DVD's of Prison Break - the complete episodes of Seasons 1-3. Raphael was actually the one who recommended me to watch this TV series. I am also curious if Prison Break will be as great as 24 (so far the best), Alias or Heroes.

So after the exams my students had, I gave myself a break just last weekend. I finished Seasons 1 and 2 and is looking forward for the Season 3. It is quite good but I will just have to give you the detail of my review on my Entertainment Fanatic blog. But one thing is for sure, I love Wentworth Miller. He is just so hot! No wonder that this TV series is getting high ratings. It is a plus factor if the lead role is handsome you know. Women especially gays are drooling over with a hot papa! (Charus!)

Casablanca - Best Love story movie of all time???

by , in
I watched Casablanca few weeks ago in order to satisfy my curiosity.

I got interested with the movie long time ago after hearing so many good reviews not only from old folks I know but also from people I see on television. They have always been telling that this is the best love story movie of all time. So, for a love story sucker and hopeless romantic like me - what is the reason of not watching it? To think, I have always been on constant search for great movies of this like.

Mga Anak nako! (Hehehehe)

by , in
Ok, mao ni akong mga anak. From right: si Kring-kring (12 yrs old), Jimmy(3 yrs old), Buding (9 yrs old), Eman(5 yrs old) and Gong-gong (11 yrs old). I had my first baby when I was 12 years old. (Toink!) Hehehehehe...

childrenSeriously, they are my five cute little neighbors which i am always talking about. The eldest and the youngest are my godchildren. Pero ang limang magkapatid na iyan ay para ko naring mga anak - mga super sweet talaga sila. Anyway, the picture above was taken last March 30, 2008. It was a double celebration - for my birthday and a special treat on their recognition and graduation day.
