I'm back at the Sisters of Mary School

The Sisters of Mary School
I'm feeling nostalgic. After 12 years, I'm back in Cebu and have finally visited my dearest high school Alma Mater - the Sisters of Mary School Girlstown School.

With my short vacation trip (May 13-16), I get to see my high school bestfriend (Nanette), my other high school classmates (Celeste - who also served as our tourist guide and Ann - she is from Davao too) and of course roamed around the different areas of the school as I reminisce the memories I've spent studying at the Sisters of Mary. Jaaaahhh... Nothing just beats the high school life!

With my high-school bestfriend, Ma. Nanette Reposar.

With Celeste (high school classmate - wearing black), Leizl and Rose (college classmates)

At the gate area. "Serve the Lord with Joy" - this is the Sisters of Mary motto (taken from Psalms)

St. Therese building - this serves as our dormitories and classrooms when we were still first year students. I cannot forget the incident when all the 6th batch shouted. Hehehhee...

The Sisters of Mary School
We stayed in this building when we were 4th year students. But because I was a good student, I was transferred here (for like a month or two) when I was still 2nd year. The senior students pampered me (I love it!) Hehehehe...What's the name of this building again?

Workshops area. They taught us pattern drafting, dressmaking, electronics, typing, computers and others.

This was not yet a building during our culinary/cooking session class. But look at it now? It has a bakery area too. Wow!

They already have this. I think this was one of the projects of some alumni. This is near the volleyball court area.

There were still classes during our visit so we weren't able to check-out the new music room. But this chapel used to be our music room. I remember how I manage to be a Rondalla member. During the audition, I luckily read one note and I was supposed to be in the Octavina but there were only a few who auditoned for Guitar instruments so I transferred. On the other hand,  Celeste was our drummer. (she's really amazing!, small but terrible)

Our swimming pool. I spent the entire high school years being a spectator (swimming competitions). Hehehhe..I was never really good in sports related to water.

The Sisters of Mary School
We went to the 2nd gymnasium, students were having their PE class. I miss our uniforms, our shoes and all the clothes that were provided to us. Unfortunately, I no longer have any of them now. Oh look at the hair too, they have the same cut right? Can you imagine how I look like that time with my curly hairs? Hahaha!

We play the instruments/accompany the mass. This is the Rondalla member's area.

Our laundry area. We just bring our clothes here and get them after class. The staff/personnel will take care of our clothes (washing and drying).

Kitchen Area. Not only education, shelter, clothing are free but also food. Hehehee...

With my high school classmates/batchmates (Geezzz, I'm so fat na! Haha!)

Our school has the following facilities but weren't able to check them all since we still have other places to visit.
  • 3 seven-story buildings with dormitories and classrooms
  • 2 gymnasiums including 4 basketball courts and stage
  • 2 three-story workshops for vocational training
  • 17 basketball courts
  • 1 semi-Olympic size outdoor swimming pool
  • 1 culinary arts building with bakery
I was also hoping I could meet my other high school classmates/batchmates in Cebu but we were really short on time. Let's just plan for our reunion okay? Thanks again to Celeste for the good accommodation. We truly appreciate your help. :)
