4 Different Methods of Hair Removal for you to Consider

Hair Removal

Hair removal can feel like a real chore, and some people have a harder time with it than others. People have fought with hair removal for thousands of years, and there are many techniques that can be used for hair removal. Some of these techniques are easier than others, and some of them are more permanent than others.

1. Electric or Manual Shaving

Electric and manual shaving is the most common method for the removal of unwanted hair. Electric shavers can be more expensive but last longer than manual razors. You can find a large range of electric razors in the latest shaver shop catalogue. Manual razors usually provide a closer shave than electric models, but wear out faster. Replaceable razor blades can be expensive, so they're often better to buy in bulk. The right shaving cream and shaving gels can greatly improve shaving for both men and women. Shaving usually needs to be done on a daily basis, but it's also one of the best ways to maintain a smooth and hairless appearance easily.

2. Waxing Or Plucking

Waxing can be used to remove large areas of hair and plucking can be used for smaller areas. Waxing can be done either cold or hot, with a waxy or sugary substance being poured and spread over the hair covered areas, and then a sheet being adhered to the substance. The sheet is then ripped off, and the hair comes with it. Waxing doesn't always take off all hair and it requires that the person doing it let their hair grow out for a few days so that the wax has something to stick to. Plucking, while tedious, is the most reliable way to get small patches of hair out. Plucked hairs take much longer to grow back than shaved hairs.

3. Hair Removal Creams

There are a few reliable hair removal creams on the market. These creams are spread across the hairy areas, and left to sit for a little while. Once the cream is wiped off, the hair should come out with it. Hair removal creams are often easy and effective, but they cannot be used with thicker or coarser hair. Those with sensitive skin may also develop rashes or other allergic reactions when using these creams, which are often very strong. Because of this it's very important to test hair removal creams on small areas of skin before committing to the process. Hair removal creams can also not be used on broken skin.

4. Laser Treatments

Laser treatments are the most final way to remove unwanted hair. With laser treatments, a laser is used to damage the hair follicle so that hair does not begin to grow again. Laser treatments will sometimes remove hair after one treatment, but some follicles may require multiple laser applications. Multiple laser treatments are often necessary to finish larger areas, and they're usually sold in packages. Laser treatments are expensive, but they also mean that you will never need to remove hair again from most areas. The more hair there is, the more expensive the treatments.
