PayPal and Unionbank EON ATM Replacement Card Helpful Tips

Few days ago, I've made a lot of discoveries with Unionbank EON ATM and PayPal. They are actually lessons learned so I just thought of sharing it to you guys if in case you still don't know about these tips. A schoolmate of mine also asked me about Unionbank EON ATM Replacement card, so I'll be sharing the questions he raised too.

I got my replacement card in the afternoon of July 6 and I withdrew money last July 5. Please note that I have to wait for the completion of transaction and the activation of my new ATM. 

1. I lost my EON ATM card, can I withdraw PayPal funds while waiting for my replacement card?

Yes. I've actually tried it. But this is using the Withdraw Funds to your Bank Account since this feature will make use of your Account Number. Your account number will always be the same no matter how many times you lost your EON ATM. It is the card number (16 digits number) that will be replaced when you received the replacement card. See image above.

Remember:
For lost/stolen EON ATM cards, you need to present 2 valid ids (photocopy) and affidavit of lost. If you forgot your pin, just present 2 valid ids (photocopy). After one week, you will receive your replacement card.

2. Can I withdraw money on the same day that I received my EON Replacement Card?

No. Even if your PayPal funds have already arrived or your EON ATM has credits you need to wait 1 banking day. They are still going to activate it. If you try it, you will only get an error message saying UNAUTHORIZED USAGE. 

3. Do I still need to enroll my new EON ATM to PayPal? or to EON Cyber Account Online Banking?

To PayPal, no need. But if you are planning to withdraw PayPal funds using the other option (Withdraw funds to your card) then you must add it or link your card. Remember that it will ask for your Card Type, Card Number, Expiry Date and Security Code.

To EON Online Banking, Yes. And you can enroll it in two ways:
a. New Account - which will asked for your ATM Card Number and ATM Pin Number, username and some personal information. (I used this because I also forgot my pin number and transaction password)
b. Lost or Replace EON Card - it will asked for your userid, previous card number, new card number and new pin number.

After successfully enrolling your new replacement card, please also note that you will have to wait 2 days before you can start doing online transactions. (checking balances, sending money, paying bills etc.). They will notify you and you will receive a Unionbank Internet Banking welcome email.

4. I incorrectly typed my pin number, how many attempts will I still have? 
a. If you are withdrawing money through an ATM machine, you are only allowed for 3 attempts. If you reached the limit, you will need to wait for another day.
b. If you are using the EON Cyber Account, you are only allowed for 2 attempts. Your account will be blocked if you reached the limit. You will need to call the Customer Service for a reset of the password.

  3. Hi, i tried making my cyber-account for my E-on card but i can't log-in. I'm sur ei inputted the correct numbers and the pin. There's no button for forgot pin or something. I tried making the account again and it's already registered. help! :(

  5. my eon card was blocked because i activated the card the wrong way. the error message states that the maximum number for pin entry has been reached (something like that). do i need to have a new card? how much will that cost me?

  6. We are only allowed 3 attempts per day. If you can't still remember your PIN number, you need to get a new card.

  8. Usually it takes 5 business days only. If you go there, the lady/guy in charge will tell you. :) When I opened my UnionBank account with my brother, it was around Febraury or January and they were having an issue so they had a delay on processing the cards because they were almost out of stock. EON cards are a huge demand here in our country so they do run out of stocks. Speaking of stocks, It's good to be early because they usually run out of 'application forms' in the afternoon which are actually needed to register. :D

    @Anonymous: You can call the costumer support of the Union Bank you opened an account at. They give a receipt-ish paper containing your information (includes the pin number, account number, etc.). If you changed it, you can still try the first option which is to call their hotline. :D

  14. hi I just link or used my eon card to get verified my paypal account it says there that I need to wait for the paypal code from unionbank...can I check it once I enrolled at online banking at eon? if not how I can get it.

  15. @Anonymous. Yes, you can checked it in your EON account online. Just go to Accounts and view transactions. You will find it there. PayPal gave a screenshot on how it looks also.

  16. hey alritch, thank you very much for your quick reply..now i got confused in the atm card number and account number i used to got verify my paypal account account is the 16 digits number as my account number i saw in one forum that the account number is the 12digits number can you clarify..and in case i put the wrong account number for me to get verified at paypal do you think i get some penalty emputting wrong number but i think i become error if i encode the wrong one?

    The sad thing here is I have to pay 150 pesos for the card replacement. They won't allow me to get a new card :(

  19. @desd: I apologize for the late reply. The account number is the 12 digits number. You can see it at the front side of your ATM. It starts with 1094.

    @jjezzyreel: Not sure. But you cannot definitely log-in to your cyber account if you don't remember your pin number. It's best if you call customer service.

  22. @rinhoh: Yes, pde naman magdeposit. Account number at iyong pera lng naman ang kailangan pero ang probz is how will you withdraw the money kung nakalimutan mo ang PIN.

Hi miss AlRitch, gusto ko lng po ma clarify, do I really need to reset my PIN number for my EON card Union? or will wait for a Day to pass for me to withdraw again from my account...hindi ko po kasi alam 2 attempts lng pala, at first time pa ako naka gamit ng ATM so what should I do po? thanks

  25. @Anonymous: 3 attempts lng per day. Pwde mo itry the next day ulit. Pero pag hindi mo na talaga maremember ang pin number after trying for so many days, you will need to get another EON card or EON replacement card kasi ikaw lng talaga nakakaalam niyan.

    @Anonymous: pakidouble check kung EON ba talaga iyang ATM mo, baka hindi. Or baka mali ang naselect mo na type of card, dapat change to EON..ang account number po nagsisimula sa 1094 iyong parang 16 digits number iyon po ang card number...

  26. need help. Nag enroll ako online sa eon. Successful na man daw. after 2days iaaccess ko sana ung online account. I filled up my card number and pin. I'm sure lhat un tama! i don't know why invalid pdin xa? wrong card number daw

  27. @Julia: Sorry sa late reply.. Iyong card number iyong hindi nagstart sa 1094...iyon ang gmitin mo, you can also use the username...diba sa pagsign-up magnominate ng username? But I think hindi pa talaga siya working. After 1 week pa siguro makalog-in. You can try calling unionbank to ask also. :)

    1. I think automatic siya but you will need to enroll sa eon cyber account first. Tapos mga more than 2 days or 1 week ka pa makalog-in ata or after 24hrs, try mo lng. Basta huwag mo kalimutan ang pin mo kasi kahit mga taga-bank hindi nila alam ang pin mo unless you shared it to others.

    1. Yep, I think matagal na ngayon. I think baka mga 1 week or after 4 days pero pwde mo rin silang icall. If you have a PLDT number, meron sila toll-free number. Check-out my blog post again for the number.

  40. Hi, I have the same problem. I had my EON card replaced. I use it mag withdraw ng funds ko from Paypal. I tried changing the expiration date as well as the CSC, but I couldn't change the card number. What should I do? Looking forward to your prompt reply. thanks.

  42. Question po, will it cost me anything to cancel/close/deactivate my eon account?

    I'm not sure if I am pass due sa annual fee. But let's say I didn't pay the annual fee for this year (2013) and I want to close the account, will I be charged?

    1. Sorry po sa late reply. Automatic po deduct sila sa annual fee sa account mo. No maintaining balance siya. Pero pagmalagyan iyan ng pera, magdeduct talaga sila - automatic din.

    nagkamali din ako ng input ng log-in pin sa EON Cyber Account.. naka invalidate ata ang EON Cyber Account,same din ba yun na ireset lang ang pin? pwde din ba un na pupunta na lang sa office nila para mgpa reset ng pin or sa customer service call center lang?

  45. Para iunlock ang account, kailangan sa customer service talaga pero if you can't really remember your pin after several attempts they can't help you with that anymore. Kasi ikaw lng ang may alam ng PIN mo. Hindi rin nila alam. That happened to me before so no choice ako kundi kumuha ng bagong EON ATM.

    tumawag na po ako sa customer service, mag send daw po sila ng password reset. d ko lang alam kung ngka intidihan kami dahil sabi ko ung log-in pin ang ngkamali ako ng pindot, baka ksi ibig nya sabhin ang transaction password.

    possible po kaya na mg reset ng pin?ksi card placement na dpat un if ngkamali ng pin.

    d ko naman po nakalimutan ang pin,ngkamali lng po ng ilagay. 2 ksi acct sa eon ung isang pin ang nilalagay ko kaya ayun na invalidate po..

    1. Mas okay kasi hindi mo pala nakalimutan ang pin mo. Dapat lng naka unlock ang EON para makatry ka log-in ulit. Nagtry ka ba log-in today kung available siya or pde ka na maglog-in. Or the past few days? Kung hindi, sa Customer Service talaga. Inform mo lng na ipaunlock lng ang paglog-in sa EON Cyber account. Different iyong transaction password.

  47. Hi po. Na block po ang EON login ko kasi nag exceed na ng attempt. Na remember ko na po ang correct PIN. Even if na block po, pwede pa rin po ba mag withdraw sa ATM? And na transfer ko na po kasi ang funds ko from Paypal and iniexpect ko na within this week. Pano po ang mangyayari sa funds?

  48. ganito nangyari sakin kanina umaga. nag try ako magwithdraw sa atm kanina, slowly but surely pinipindot ko ung pin ko. 6 digit pin un, kaso pag pindot ko sa pang 5th digit feeling ko sira yung keyboard/keypad parang nadodoble kaya ayun wrong pin agad maski dko pa natatapos i enter ung pin ko. magiging ok na kaya ang lahat after 24 hours.

  50. Ganun dn ngyari sakin. pero more than 3 times ko na enter ung PIN ko. Card replacement na kaya yan? ilang beses nyo na try mg enter na PIN na mali? sakin mga 6 times ata un.

  52. Got A question. If your EON card already Expired. Could you still withdraw funds from Paypal to your Eon through Bank Account method? I have it as a Bank Account. Now my Eon Card has expired but could I still withdraw money since it serves as a Bank Account as well?

    2. Pde mawithdraw sa paypal pero hindi pa maclaim sa Unionbank kasi you need a new EON Card. Pero ang money nasa account mo na. Pero mas mabuti iconfirm or ask mo sa Unionbank.

Hi good day po...kakakuha ko lang po ng atm ko frm my company... nag reached po ako max times ng pin incorrect po kahapon quarter to 3 ng hapon po...pag nag inquire ka po ba wala pang 24hrs automatic po ba na zero yong balance mo? Babalik po yan kng nag 24hrs na mula ng nagkamali ka ng pindot po? Thanks po

    1. Pde ka maka-inquire ulit the next day or after 24hrs. Kung magkano po ang laman ng account mo iyon parin ang laman niya unless may nagwithdraw. Pero kung hindi mo na maretrieve ang pin mo, kailangan mo kumuha ulit ng ATM or pde ka magwithdraw over the counter nlng.
