It’s been months since we’ve seen of Wally Bayola. He has chosen to keep mum and bear his ‘humiliation’ in silence. Since his scandal was publicized, he has dropped out of the famed noon-time show, ‘Eat Bulaga’ (temporarily, they say) and has stepped out of the public limelight. There has been silence from both the comedian and the show’s representatives except for the initial expression of support for the latter.

Now, reports are in that he is making a ‘soft’ comeback. Wally is slowly re-entering the entertainment biz, stage wise. Stalwart supporters of the shamed comedian will be disappointed however, because he has yet to return to his segment with Jose and Paolo on TV. He is back as a stand-up comedian at Zirkoh in Quezon City.

Will he though? That remains to be seen. Some skeptics are doubtful on how effective he remains and understandably so. Eat Bulaga is a wholesome noontime show, one which no clandestine performer should be a part of.

Am I being too tough? Do you think he should go back? Let’s just wait and see what happens in the next few months.

Vhong Navarro’s recent misfortune has been trending as of late. Along with this, formerly under the radar model, Deniece Milinette Cornejo has also gained notoriety. It’s nasty business, with either side telling a different story. On one end, we hear of the girl inviting the boy over to her place at 11pm. On another, we hear of how the girl was s**ually assaulted prompting her guy friends to pounce and defend her supposedly purloined dignity.

Since this news has erupted, people have voiced out different opinions, majority of which tend to lean on Navarro’s side. What is most amusing however is how netizens have chosen to react. Apart from choice words, several memes have popped out online, ranging from laugh out loud funny to roll all over the floor hilarious.

First off, there is a photo of Deniece before and after getting obvious facial ‘improvements’. The humor doesn’t stop from there however, as soon, another meme featuring Liam Neeson’s now iconic call from the hit movie ‘Taken’ – ‘I will find you and I will kill you’ hits online. Then there’s another with Angel Locsin and Maja Salvador who appear to be incensed at Cornejo. But what seems to really top it all are three more memes - one with Pacquiao, another with a WWE wrestler (sorry wrestling fans for not knowing his name) and still another with the drunk guy from the news who orders bulalo from a bakery.

The law system being what it is, this legal hullaballoo of he said, she said will last for months so why not get a few laughs out of the whole thing? It’s genius, I say! If you can’t insult someone enough – make a meme and laugh. Ha.

Comedians have employed various antics to make the masses laugh. Some specialize in slapstick comedy where a certain degree of physical agility has to be met. Running, falling and tripping – the Stooges would be best icons for this.

But when it comes to parodies, Paolo Ballesteros seems to put everyone else to shame. His hilarious portrayals of well known and loved Hollywood artists have gained attention among Philippine audiences. His witty take on Angelina Jolie, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Audrey Hepburn and his latest and most popular one so far, Marilyn Monroe have made him a trending topic not only on gossip TVs but in social media as well.

He is not the first comic to be successful in this craft though. Well known comedians such as Jon Santos and Willie Nepomuceno have had relative success in TV and theatre. What sets him truly apart is his ability to transform into the softer, opposite gender without appearing like a transvestite. While Jon Santos’ impersonations are effective, his masculinity is still apparent; whereas, Willie Nep has only stuck out on purely male parodies. Another amazing quality Paolo possesses is his dexterity with make-up. Using YouTube as his only reference, he is remarkable with his concealer and blushes that it almost seems like magic.

Of course, his rising fame goes hand in hand with controversy. But one would find it hard not to admire the silent nobility upon which he handles this. He simply does not care. Think what you will, Paolo is gay or Paolo is straight. Either way, he is unarguably one of the ‘yummy’ celebrities we have today.

It doesn’t make sense – two beautiful and talented women, fighting over a man. This is a storyline favorite among soap opera writers, it seems. It’s been written about over and over - and over again that it almost it feels like and sounds like a cliché. It’s a plot that demeans women and reduces them to mindless zombies that live in search of an able bodied man. (well – even if the man isn’t able bodied, women apparently still fight over him.)

Art truly imitates life and true to form, we now have two attractive women who are fighting over a man. The tabloids are now full of news that Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador are apparently not in good terms. Maja is in a relationship with Gerald who is Kim’s ex. Ugh. Kim is allegedly sore that Maja went into a relationship with him, even if they already parted ways and have stayed that way for over three years.It’s just in bad taste to talk, write or even think about. Kim is attractive – and can have any man she wants. Maja is the same, why fight over Gerald? Why destroy a friendship over one man when you can have so many others?

It’s not an unusual case, nor is it the most shocking one, when you consider that former child singer Charice Pempengco has finally ‘come out’. Aiza Seguerra, has done it, and of course, Rustom Padilla, now known popularly as BB Gandanghari.

In an intimate interview with her godfather, Bum Tenorio Jr., Charice has been quoted to say, ‘I have come to accept the real me. I have come to love the real me. I now celebrate the real me.’ Charice even goes as far as to resolutely say that she doesn’t mind getting a sizeable amount of bashers.

Well, good for her. She seems to be at peace now with herself and true to form, she has nothing to worry about. Charice’s finances are fine, the proof being on her brand new BMW which was paid in full. She has named the luxury vehicle, ‘Captain’. For her fans and detractors, Charice can only say, ‘The only thing that changed in me is my look, my perspective. My voice remains the same."

If rumors are to be believed in, the perfect couple, Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo, are dead set on getting an annulment. It is alleged that Ryan has an extramarital affair with none other than the beautiful Isabelle Daza.

Judy Ann laughs at the issue,” Sobrang ok kami. Kumportable, relax lang at kalmado.” (“We’re ok. Comfortable, relaxed and calm.”)The award winning actress / TV-host also states how she feels bad for Daza who is just starting out with her career and is already confronted with intrigues left and right.

As further proof of their stronger-than-ever relationship, Santos shared their conversation about the issue: “Uy, annulled na daw tayo ha.” (“We’re already annulled, they say.)to which he quipped “Ibig sabihin, pwede na kitang pakasalan ulit.” (“Which means, I can marry you all over again.”)

So I guess this means that detractors will have to find other means to break this very sweet and devoted couple apart.

The recent news about Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano’s break-up due to a third party made a shocking impact to the public. It was not expected of the couple due to their fairy tale like love story and a dream wedding which was witnessed by the whole country through an exclusive coverage at the Kapamilya network.

Earlier, Cesar was reported to be linked with a starlet named Krista Miller and this caused mainly the 12-year relationship to falter and later lead to a breakup.

During an interview, Sunshine said she has no plans of reconciling with Cesar as of this time.

But on the other side, she said that they still have a communication due to the children. “We are friends. We are okay. We text especially when it’s about the children,” Sunshine said.

Alex Gonzaga, Toni’s sister signed a two year exclusive contract with ABS-CBN. She is now a part of the Star Magic family, ABS-CBN’s talent management arm.

This is called a comeback for Alex because originally, she was a Kapamilya talent back then. She carried Cathy Gonzaga as her screen name but when she jumped to TV5, she was named Alex.

She hosted Juicy, a showbiz talk and commentary show for years. Apart from hosting, she also starred in some drama series at TV5 namely: Babaeng Hampaslupa, BFGF, Glamorosa, P.S.I Love You and Enchanted Garden.

After five long years from the time she left the Kapamilya network, she is now very happy to be back because of the warm welcome the network has conveyed to her.

Despite the very controversial fight by Ara Mina and younger sister Cristine Reyes which happened a year ago, they are now enjoying each other’s company as recently; having forgiven each one’s fault.

Actress Ara Mina was not able to give time the media for an interview lately but, she texted “The Buzz” that she is now making up with Christine for the time they have lost to each other during those times when they had some big misunderstandings.

Ara has just appealed to the public for them understand her situation and that she chose to be with her family and enjoy some “quiet time” in their company rather than to speak up in a media interview immediately after the reconciliation took place. After all, it is a matter of the family and of their own personal lives.

But Ara promised to share how she and Cristine settled their problem. She also expressed her gratefulness to people who prayed for her and Cristine. Added to that, she exclaimed:”God is good.”

Comedy concert queen Ai Ai delas Alas has not yet aired her side on reports that she just entered into marriage with boyfriend, Jed Salang last April 3 (April 4 – Philippine Time) at Las Vegas, Nevada.

The speculations rose after photos were posted on Instagram with both parties wearing formal attires together with a caption: "FORMAL DINNER... happy day!"

Pictures showed Ai Ai and companions wearing formal attires. Her sons Sancho, Sean Nicolo and Sophia together with ex-husband Miguel Vera were present in the pictures. In fact, Sean and Sancho had some corsage on their suits. Jed Salang was also in a formal suit on the photos.

Leyte 4th District representative, Lucy Torres-Gomez was formally unseated last March 26. This was due to the decision given by the high tribunal sitting en banc that Lucy was not an eligible substitute to husband Richard Gomez, who originally ran during the 2010 automated elections.

An election-related case was filed by Silverio Tagolino, who lost to Lucy in the previously held elections. The complainant Tagolino sent to the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal (HRET) a case which aimed to question the immediate substitution of Lucy to husband Richard’s candidacy.

Last March 30 at 6 in the morning, premiered actor Aga Muhlach’s speedboat blasted into pieces in Caramoan, Camarines Sur and that was reported by his legal counsel, Atty. Michelle Juan.

Aga and his family were not on board during the explosion but the pilot, Jerome Pervera was badly hurt. The boat’s pilot was wounded in his leg, arm, back and face and was rushed to the Caramoan emergency hospital.

The explosion was investigated and the result of the initial probe was that the engine and gas tank was ignited from which, primarily caused the dreadful blast. But the local police is set to release a more final investigation report regarding the incident which may have been associated with politics.

Christian Bautista, a Kapamilya-born talent recently jumped to the Kapuso network. This was formally confirmed to the media by Angel Javier-Cruz, the network’s assistant vice-president for network corporate communications.

A contract signing formalized the said three year exclusive agreement between Bautista and GMA Network last March 21, 2013 at the GMA offices located in Quezon City.

His debut appearance on the network will be on the noontime show, “Eat Bulaga.” Bautista will also be welcomed soon in the Sunday variety show “Party Pilipinas,” which is the counter program of his previous Kapamilya show for years, ASAP. He will also be doing a project which is in a form of a drama series.

Her performance in “One More Try” made her to win the top spot and accidentally outshine veteran artists and personal idols like Nora Aunor, Vilma Santos and Gina Alajar.

Angel was in great unbelief of what happened. At first when she knew that her co-nominees for the award were that primed, she did not expect on winning the award. With the trophy in her hand, she praised fellow nominees during her acceptance speech.

Lastly, she thanked PMPC for giving a chance to budding artists.

That night, she was worried on how the Vilmanians and Noranians will react to her victory over the two iconic actresses. She even cracked a joke that she might not go out alive of the theater. Then, she pointed that these fans are not bad.

Later, she was also told that the fans of Nora and Vilma have accepted fully her winning at the PMPC Awards. She also thanked Noranians and Vilmanians and assured them she was also one big fan of the two premiered actresses and referred to them as people of extraordinary talents.

Angel looks forward to a project with Nora and said it would be a great honor. With Vilma, she has already experienced working with her in the movie “Mano Po.”

She will soon be starting to shoot for a Star Cinema project with Bea Alonzo, Toni Gonzaga and Shaina Magdayao.

Thai superstar Mario Maurer was recently rumored of sharing a romantic relationship with singer-comedienne Kakai Bautista. The two met during the production of the movie "Suddenly It's Magic," where Erich Gonzales was Mario’s leading lady.

At the outbreak of the talks regarding the alleged relationship, Kakai is now put on hot seat and some of her detractors have expressed disapproval and even threw bad comments on her.

Kakai with a controlled temper tweeted last March 4: "Money can't buy you peace of mind, beauty can't bring you true love, but a good heart can give you happiness and contentment."

After Sharon jumped to the Kapatid network (TV5), much has been heard and also seen about her. Shows popped up one after the other and the latest of which was Sharon, Kasamo Mo Kapatid. The show aired its last episode last January 13, 2013.

Rumors spread after Sharon’s talk show ended. It was said that Sharon wants to go back to the Kapamilya network but Perci Intalan, vice president for TV5’s Creative and Entertainment Production strongly expressed his opposition to such rumor. He further elaborated that it is unfair to Sharon if we just let the rumors spread that she is showing some signs that she wants to go back to her previous network. Also, he added that any network would love to work with Sharon because she is Sharon Cuneta.

Sharon still has a contract at TV5 up to 2016 as she has signed a five-year contract. Intalan then adds that as soon as Sharon arrives from abroad, the management will be talking to her formally to discuss some upcoming projects.

The phenomenal success of several syndicated shows in the Kapamilya network has been a great buy for the conglomerate. From Pinoy Big Brother, Pilipinas Got Talent, Pinoy Master Chef, Pinoy Dream Academy, Deal or No Deal, X-Factor Philippines and the latest of which is Minute to Win it, such shows have became more popular in the whole country.

Along with the new shows this year, is the comeback of the very influential show, The Biggest Loser Doubles. Its pilot edition was hosted by then Kapamilya now turned Kapatid Megastar Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan. Starting at 2:00 p.m., Dabawenyos can head off to the Rizal Park to and catch the special TV marathon of TV5 dramaseryes. Recent episodes of the David Archuleta-starrer ‘Nandito Ako’ and TV5’s afternoon soaps ‘Felina’ and ‘Isang Dakot na Luha’ will be shown.
