Davao Lady Bloggers

Davao Lady Bloggers

It's the last day of 2010 and it's 11 more hours to go guys. Wooohoooo! I just can't wait!

I hope and wish a Prosperous New Year to all of you my dear readers. Stay safe and be careful with firecrackers. Thank you for constantly visiting my emo blog site. I hope you enjoyed and learned a lot from my blog posts also. I know I'm not that good but I promise, I will continue to improve my writing.

But before the New Year comes, let me just take this opportunity to be thankful also for being part of this girl group - Davao Lady Bloggers. This year, I became a member and have joined their visit to Davao TLCShop. I've been wanting to join a group like this because I really want to learn more about beauty, fashion, cosmetology, health spa and other things a lady do.

Honestly, up to know – I still don’t know how to put make-up. I don't know what lipstick to use with the kind of lips I have. And I only use pony tail for my curly hair and a white powder for my face/cheeks. When going out, the usual get-up - jeans, rubber shoes and a shirt. Simple as that. And  take note, I've never been to any spa. (LOL!)

My 2010 Trips - Cebu, Bohol, Iloilo and Boracay

by , in
One of the good things that happened to me for 2010 was being able to travel and visit the wonderful places of the Philippines namely Cebu, Bohol, Iloilo and Boracay. Aside from that, it was also memorable because it was my first time to experience riding in an airplane. Yes, after more than 25 years of dreaming it - I have finally realized that dream and it happened twice for this year. That's why I'm so happy.

Boracay, Trip to Boracay

The first trip was last May 13-16 where we went to Cebu and Bohol. After 12 years, I've finally visited my high school Alma Mater (the Sisters of Mary School) and it was just nostalgic. Although we stayed only for a day I'm thankful that I get to visit Taoist Temple and Lapu-Lapu bridge  also. I've never been to these places when I was in Cebu during my high school days. While in Bohol, we had long hours of road trip. We went to Sagbayan Peak, Baclayon Church and museum,  Butterfly and Python sanctuary, Hinagdanan Cave and Loboc River.

An appeal to all Internet Service Providers in the Philippines

by , in

It's been a month now that I subscribed to this wireless net connection. And for that span of time, it has been terrible and a huge struggle. The net connection is always intermittent, when visiting sites the loading takes much longer and when I'm downloading something, it takes days for it to finish.

PLDT, Internet at Home

(Today's speed, it is by far - the fastest. Most of the time, it is horrible especially during rainy days)

But I don't have any option but to bear this because the only connection available in our area is wireless. PLDT, Globe, Bayantel and Smart Bro don't have any DSL connection here in our area yet. That's why I am making an appeal to these Internet Serivce Providers to please make the installation as soon as possible. I am working at home and getting a stable connection is what I badly needed. I believe you'll get more subscribers here. After all, almost all the people here in DECA Homes have computers.

My telephone signal is also affected because it is dependent to my net connection. Same thing with our TV, it can only get three clear channels (ABC, ABS-CBN, GMA).

But forget about the TV and telephone because they are not my immediate concern. I just really want to have a stable connection. This is my major wish. So, I'm calling again all the Internet Service Providers here in the Philippines, please install a reliable internet connection here in Deca Homes, Mintal, Davao City.

UPDATE: Sky Broadband and PLDT DSL are already available here in Deca Homes.

It's the season to get engaged

by , in
It's 4 days to go before Christmas! Yahooooo! I'm already excited. This will be our first Christmas in our new home and some of my cousins will be spending the Holiday with us.

Christmas is just the most wonderful time of the year. And just like the song of the Jackson 5, it's a time to give love and be kind to one of all. So let's forgive and forget, share and spread the love guys.

engagement rings, wedding rings, wedding bands
Talking about spreading the love, don't you know that Christmas is the best season to get engaged? I know you'll agree with me on this. As you too have lots of friends who got engaged this holiday season. Why? Because everybody is in the mood for celebrating and it has that magic and festive-ness that Christmas is known for. So guys if you pop-up that question and you make it as romantic and unforgettable for your special someone, you'll definitely get a "Yes" answer.

Anyway, if you are still looking for the right ring or engagement rings, wedding bands  and diamond wedding bands to give to your dearest one. Try checking World Jewels for that or simply click the above links.Their rings are just so beautiful! See photo example (it's my favorite!).

Happy Holidays!

Smarter Shopping In-Store and Online

by , in
As we fine tune our shopping lists for the holidays, keep in mind that there will be other deals during the up-coming weeks. They may not all be as big as the ones on the biggest shopping days of the year, but they will be significant in helping you save a lot of money. For that reason and many more it is vital that you think about the best ways to shop. Let’s say you want a television and you are looking online and realize the best deal is at Best Buy. Well you can order it online but you have to wait several days for it to get there and also hope that it is in good condition. You can go to the store to buy it buy the fact is that this television is being sold at such a great deal that there is no guarantee the store will have it in stock by the time you get there. That’s why you need to rely on websites for all your information, not only prices and research on the products, but location information as well.

online shopping, local shopping, MILO

There are now plenty of websites that can tell you exactly where you will be able to find the product you want, the exact store closest to you. So if you are thinking about getting something that is on sale from RadioShack or Guitar Center, you can find out online which one closest to you actually has it in stock without having to spend hours on the phone calling around. Using this new technology, you have the ability to merge the best of both online and in-store shopping. Use the internet to find which stores have the product you are looking for in stock at your local store, and at the lowest price. Then you can purchase that very item online, for in-store pick-up the same day.

How to Save on Plumbing Repairs

by , in
After I have paid for the application of water and electricity in our new home I thought everything is already okay. But I was surprised when my mother called up saying that there is a water leak in our kitchen area and the toilets are slow or stopped up also that we will need the help of a plumber or a Duluth plumber.

It’s an additional cost/expense that can be very expensive and yet cannot be avoided. So in order for us to save plumbing costs, we tried to fix it by ourselves. We've cleaned and tried to remove the blockage in the toilet area but unfortunately it is still there. Our mason tried to close the leak by putting cement but the water continued to flow. So we don’t have any other option but warrant plumbers attention. Those people who are really expert into this kind of job like a Las Vegas sewer repair or Marietta water heater plumber.

But I don’t have enough cash so I tried different ways to save on plumbing repairs. I asked several plumbers about their rates of work to find the cheapest option. There are those whose pay in an hourly basis but as you have known, you can’t save much in this situation because everything has to go according to the plumbers timing. And most of the time, they would extend much hours working on it to get more hours of compensation. So dealing with a flexible plumber is a good one because they can be accessed easily. They work whenever it is convenient and their charges are lower. Also, it is easier to negotiate with them compared to hourly rate plumbers. And guess what, I was able to save half the price.
