Manny Pacquiao fans will be thrilled to know that a documentary film about their ‘idol’s’ life is set to be released this year. The movie will feature ‘Pacman’s’ life – from his poverty stricken origins to his current, multi-million successes.
This is not the first movie about Manny’s life. In June 2006, a biopic was released, Pacquiao: The Movie. It starred Jericho Rosales as the famed boxer and Bea Alonzo as his wife, Jinkee and featured actual footage from the highlights of Pacman’s career.
What sets this movie apart is the raw honesty it brings to Manny’s fans. It will have personal reflections from Manny, shared stories from his family and friends and interviews from Hollywood stars turned fans as well as musings from his trainer, Freddie Roach. For the first time, viewers will hear his words and travel back through time with him. For the first time, he will share his struggle, his pain and his success. This is what draws in fans: our empathy with Manny Pacquiao. This is the same reason why Filipinos emulate him; his journey was not a smooth paved path but a rough road full of thorns and riddled with stones.
